The version everyone is looking for is the Fox release from 1988. I'm lucky enough to still have the VHS of it since it's difficult to find now. This version is Disneys release... Disney shouldn't have done anything to such a masterpiece. The storyline, characters, are all from Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli founder).

Finally got to watch this wonderful movie. I absolutely loved it. I couldn't stop smoking throughout it and even cried a bit towards the end. Beautiful movie and story.
