Karthik (Vijay Antony), burns down the house after finding out the illicit relationship betweeb his mother and uncle due to which his father too commits suicide, only to be raised in a juvenile home. After being released from the juvenile home, he boards a bus to Chennai to begin a new life. As fate may have it, the bus meets with an accident killing his co-passenger Saleem. Pouncing on this tragically opportune moment he picks up Saleem's certificates and joins a medical college by changing his identity as Saleem. He befriends many rich folks in the college, namely, Ashok (Siddharth Venugopal), Rupa (Rupa Manjari) and others. In a heated conversation with Ashok, he kills him accidentally. Later, he covers up the murder in a very intelligent manner. He continues to live in deception, questioning his endeavor and survival, forming the rest of the story. (CBFC UA DIL/2/30/2012-CHE)
