I was only 15 when #Newsies came out, so I didn't really understand Hollywood and their critics. Apparently this bombed at the box office, but so was #ThePrincessBride, and that's now a cult classic. Personally I think Newsies is, too. Especially since it became such a hit on Broadway. I hardly listen to critics anyway. This will always be one of my favorite movies.

I love this movie so much, however google requires you to download an app that doesn't work with my phone in order to watch it once you rent or buy it. The movie I love, the whole stupid "download our app or get cheated out of money" thing I don't like at all. Luckily I've seen this movie before and I love it. Once again, because of the required movie app I can't watch it so basically I just wasted 3 dollars and some change.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this movie since I first watched it when I was five years old. I am told that I would make my sister rewind it right away to watch again. Every time we went to the video store it was my choice to rent. It's interesting to compare the film version to the real events of the strike. For instance, Kid Blink was actually the name of the Newsboys strike leader. Or how the actual strike ended with the Newsboys being able to sell back paps not bought, but not with a reduction in price. :)
