A young Canadian Isobel, travels to a malaria-plagued region of Kenya to volunteer at an orphanage with her best friend, Jessica. After a disturbing first night, they unravel a terrifying story of villagers transforming into witches known as Nightrunners. Far from simply disrupting the peace, the witches can curse you, corrupt you and if you really cross them - kill you. While Jessica's burgeoning romance brings hers closer to the community, Isobel grows fearful that Jessica, her sole source of comfort, has been recruited by the Nightrunners.
