Two strangers meet at a North Carolina inn, each planning to deal with very troubling circumstances in their lives. Paul (Golden Globe-winner Richard Gere - "Chicago," "Unfaithful") is a doctor who has come to try to reconcile with his estranged son. Adrienne (Academy Award-nominee Diane Lane - "Unfaithful," "Under the Tuscan Sun") is trying to decide whether or not to stay in her unhappy marriage. Sparks fly when the two first cross paths, and a relationship begins to build that may open up new possibilities for both of them. I liked it... but if they were to do a remake, I would suggest a two-week stay instead of a 4-day one -- it's hard to believe that they could get so close in such a short amount of time. I would also have the movie end with her running into someone and feeling a connection... and leaving us to figure out what happens down the road.

I don't mind cheesy, romantic dramas; but this is one the most horribly constructed films I've ever seen. Certainly the worst of that year. Terrible.

This movie makes me miss home. .... because I'm from Rodanthe and I moved and I hate I moved. I have the movie theater poster. Which is pretty cool.
