Academy Award winner Jodie Foster dazzles in this charming film as a reclusive, fainthearted novelist who reluctantly journeys to a tropical island when one of her biggest fans asks for her help. The writer of a popular series of adventure novels featuring the daring Alex Rover, Alexandra Rover (Foster) is nothing like her famously dashing literary creation. Duty calls, however, when she is contacted by Nim (Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin), her number-one fan, a feisty, independent girl whose deserted island home is threatened by invaders. Now, as Alexandra nervously ventures forth into the world and Nim faces the biggest challenge of her exciting young life, they must draw courage from the fictional gallantry of Alex Rover to save Nim's Island, a place where imagination runs wild and adventure rules!
