Robbie Vaughn-Jackson
Though I was both angered and saddened by Zoe Saldana being chosen to play Nina Simone, I watched because I was hopeful. A movie about Nina Simone was long overdue. I'm a fan of Zoe and she is so talented . . . so I watched. All I can say is that what was created in "Nina" was shameful! Truly wrong! Zoe's portrayal was ridiculous and almost cruel. Shame on Zoe for doing this role and shame on anyone who was a part of that decision-making process. Nina Simone, her legacy, her fans, and the world deserved more than this. Yes, Zoe can act and sing, but it's deeper than that when doing a biopic. Beyond not having any of Nina's physical characteristics, Zoe's singing and speaking voice as Nina, her movements and facial expressions, and her not bringing any of Nina Simone's grit, soul, or essence into this role made her portrayal an insult to Nina's memory. Shameful!

This is up there with the white guy playing Micheal Jackson, or Gods of Egypt with the all white cast, or Moses, or the Bible, or any other movie that gets whitewashed and watered down by the Hollywood Jews. I was ashamed for Zoe. Besides that, the acting was horrible. Only people that have not seen or heard Nina Simone perform will think this movie is even remotely accurate or a legit attempt. People say we are hating, but even Nina's own daughter was against this shameful farce.
