The movie begins with the journey of Pasupathy, to Madura by bus. Pasupathy narrates his whole past life to Padmapriya and hears her story too. In the past two childhood friends Pasupathy and Makarand Deshpande, join the self styled person, Thilakan as forest employees, Mallika being their love interest. But Mallika had married Pasupathy much to the agony of Makarand. Pasupathy's married life was taken to misery by his childhood friend Makarand and now the travel by bus to Madura is a time for him to pay back for Makarand's misdeed, which leads to the rest of the story.
