À propos de ce film

Acclaimed filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen deliver their most gripping and ambitious film yet in this sizzling and supercharged action-thriller. When a man stumbles on a bloody crime scene, a pickup truck loaded with heroin, and two million dollars in irresistible cash, his decision to take the money sets off an unstoppable chain reaction of violence. Not even west Texas law can contain it. Based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy, and featuring an acclaimed cast led by Tommy Lee Jones, this gritty game of cat and mouse will take you to the edge of your seat and beyond right up to its heart-stopping final act.

Chigurh is an incredible calculating, improvising, determined, heartless, dispassionate, sociopathic, logical yet unlogical killer. He is terrifying. I'd like to see a movie that focuses on him, to be honest. Moss is a great protagonist who thinks he can roll with the big dogs. The scene with Wells and Chigurh was great. And Bell is a great metaphor for the changing of the times and how, as you get older, you might no longer 'fit' in the world that you thought you knew. The movie does not fit in a single genre. It is a thriller: my heart was racing for probably at least 25% of this movie. It is a Western and a period piece; the director captures the feel of that region and time period well. It is a dark comedy; there are a few parts that made me laugh, particularly Chigurh's conversations with some others. It's also some a existential pondering piece. And it sure is quotable, despite the infrequency of dialogue.

This is a cinematic masterpiece. This is not overrated, simply not for specific audiences. This is not a film for everyone. This is classic cinema at it's best. Sadly, a lot of people have forgotten that film used to be an art form. This movie brings it back. It is said that a film isn't about what's said or done, but how it's said and done. The movie is extremly intense and suspenseful, the tension is seen and grown through every shot. It is a very unromanticized film. The type of violence and storytelling is violent, jarring, and memorable. It's very different from typical hollywood movies. Its a very realistic plot, the characters are very believable and the outcome is unexpected. The ending, much like the rest, is a love it or hate it. It focuses on one characters perspective, and as a result it ends for us when it ends for him. Once he's had enough, once he's no longer concerned with the events that occur, once he's out of the chase, the movie ends. I overall really enjoyed this. I hope you do as well.

I don't understand why people think this movie is great. I am serious I never write reviews but they build up two characters. Then when it it comes down to the climax, oh wait they took it out. Anybody claiming that taking out the climax is pretentious period. Oh then let's let the bad guy pretty much win. Sorry I don't care how good the shots, score, or deeper meaning b.s. you want to make up it still does not make up for these facts.
