First half of the movie was fairly engaging (ignore those critics who slam it for not following the book...). Second half was a relentless dirge. I would sooner nail my private parts to a burning building than watch this train smash again. Just a pity I can't delete it from my library to hide the shame of buying it.

Hardly related to the true bible story, with random rock creatures, a strange 'magical' old man etc. By about 1/5th of the way through me and my family just wanted it to end but carried on watching it as we were optimistic that it would improve. It didn't.

I love Darren's work, you always get something different from what you initially expect, but I think he's expecting a little too much fan loyalty here. An interesting interpretation of the tale that just loses its energy the longer it goes on. There are though much, much worse ways to spend a couple of hours.
