Andy Smalls
- I-flag na hindi naaangkop
I read and loved the book, so naturally when I heard there was a movie I immediately got it. As I watched the movie I noticed that they were immediately covering the first quarter of the book. I thought to myself " wow, I hope this is a summary, because there's some important parts they are skipping." but no, they decided to adjust the story. The characters were portrayed inaccurately and the situations that drove the characters to who they were was lost. I could not relate to anyone in movie to the book, and for a 2 hour film, I'm not sure what I watched; it had no filling. I hated how they ignored simple yet crucial details, such as character's backstories. At no point could I see character development and similarity to the book. It's like the director heard the book from someone that heard it from someone else. Just because they added some lines from the book to some of the scenes doesn't mean it was portrayed correctly. Though the book ended in a slight mystery, the real mystery is why they made this movie if the only accurate thing was the title. If you haven't read the book, please do, it's a wonderful piece of literature.
