"Nymphomaniac" is the wild and poetic story of a woman's erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg). On a cold winter's evening the old, charming bachelor Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård) finds Joe beaten up in an alleyway. He brings her home to his flat where he tends to her wounds while asking her about her life. He listens intently as Joe over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.

Ratings and reviews

This movie was over the top with sex without a doupt some people thought it was straight up porn, and I cant blame them. But besides to unessary amount of sex in the movie, you have good performances, the movie is just amazing to look at, the director has to be one of my faviortes in that sense. But truly this movie does have a buetiful and meaningful side to it. I still think it was not to my taste non the less.

Go into it expecting lots of nude scenes and some fairly jaw dropping moments. Weird, edgy and probably unlike anything else you've ever watched..... definetly not a family film. The film's are dark and twisted which may make some people feel uncomfortable but if you're prone to wanting something out of the ordinary this is for you. Watched it with my partner and we were hooked.

Just not entertaining!
