The Extended Edition film is 20 minutes longer with new and extended scenes not seen in the theatrical release.

Disappointed that the only option was to purchase the movie for $17.99 instead of renting it like I did for the other 2 “The Hobbit” movies at $4.99. The movie came out in 2014 so it’s not like it’s a new release.
