This groundbreaking cinematic event stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper, the lone security repairman stationed on a desolate, nearly-ruined future Earth. When he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft, her arrival triggers a nonstop chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows, and leaves humanity's fate in his hands. Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman joins Cruise in this "visually stunning" (Pete Hammond, Movieline), explosive story from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Thrilling and compelling and visually arresting on a micro scale, but when you zoom out - when you take a minute to think about it - it's all too contrived. The story is perfectly ridiculous - clones, ocean-sucking fusion reactors, a godlike machine invader, the lengths to which the insidious Tet goes to get the clones to do their bidding and hide the reality of the situation... All thoroughly unnecessary for a good story.

Say what you will of Tom Cruise and his personal life choices, but the man seems to be one of the few in Hollywood still willing to stick their neck out in non-sequel Sci-Fi and pull it off, and for that I give him props! Oblivion certainly isn't original, but executes itself very entertainingly even if a couple of plot holes are pretty big. ^^ Then again, most movies tend to have those, and this one still remains a good watch if you're looking to spend the evening watching a post-invasion movie. =) Got to give a shout out to Cruise's next Sci-Fi foray, Edge of Tomorrow, which was even better than this!

Not good, totally different from what one would expect it to be, looking at the film cover. This movie is way too complicated to understand. What a waste of some of the good ideas contained in it. 😖😔😞😒
