I can't believe this currently has a rating of 4.4 currently. It is one of the most beautiful films I have seen in a while. Comparable with visual stunning movies like Prometheus, A 2001 Space Odyssey, and Avatar. But thats where the substance ends. The acting is completely dry. The script is so cookie cut as can be, you can see what is going to happen within 15 mins of the film. It's just an overall lackluster boring film

Boring is the first adjective that comes to mind when I go to describe this. It was also a little confusing but not in a fun "Matrix" let's figure this out kind of way. I literally rolled my eyes when they revealed what was going on, very slow build up for a not particularly surprising conclusion. I actually rolled my eyes at most of the "surprises" as they were sooooo easy to guess and/or not that exciting. There was actually only one reveal that made me do a double take, but it didn't lead anywhere interesting. This probably is only popular because of Morgan Freeman and Tom Cruise; however, no amount of good acting could make this lame movie worth paying for in my opinion. I truly suggest spending your money on another rental or some munchies.

This movie to me was unexpectedly good. I watch it with no expectations. One of the better sci-fi movies I've seen. A good cast, Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise, but Olga Kurylenk, Andrea Riseborough, and Morgan Freeman were great. This movie was set in past apocalyptic world with futuristic scenes. This movie does have a bit heavy dialogue. Despite the mixed reviews you might want to try a rental.
