About this movie

This groundbreaking cinematic event stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper, the lone security repairman stationed on a desolate, nearly-ruined future Earth. When he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft, her arrival triggers a nonstop chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows, and leaves humanity's fate in his hands. Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman joins Cruise in this "visually stunning" (Pete Hammond, Movieline), explosive story from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Saw the ad with Morgan freeman saying something like "it's not what you think" which ruined it a little (&apologise if that ruins it for you but not sure how else to explain it) however watching it fully a year later found it wasn't what I thought he was suggesting & like all the good Phillip k dick movie adaptions this feels like it ticks a lot of boxes with examining briefly concepts of identity & humanity & was a little heart felt and was satisfying & interesting! -in summary me & wife would recommend!

Quite a bleak and serious film, rips off major plots from other SciFi films and the other actors besides Tom dont seem to hold much presence even Morgan Freeman. But it is a still a captivating sci-fi vision for a sci-fi fan like me and the menacing security droids are worth the ticket price alone. Many complaining that the ending was wrong and and a con and i agree the initially suggested ending would have been very powerful but it worked for me as the chosen ending was more true to Toms character.

Top marks all around, in my opinion this movie should have got more recognition, its a totally original take on alien invasion which was perfectly portrayed and screened with 1st rate special effects graphics and an awsome sound track. I've watched it so many times and it's still one of my faves. I highly recommend this movie.
