Sobre aquesta pel·lícula

Charles Dickens' classic tale of a waif in 19th Century England comes alive brilliantly in this Oscar-winning musical. Fleeing a life of workhouse servitude, Oliver (Mark Lester) arrives in London to seek his fortune. During his adventures, Oliver meets a gallery of unforgettable Dickens low-lifes. © 1968, renewed 1996 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

I have watched Oliver! countless times over the years and with each viewing it continues to delight and entertain. A superb cast breathes life into the carachters; Ron Moody's performance is my all time favourite depiction of Fagan, Shani Lewis & Oliver Reed (Bill Sykes= phwoar!) are superb, also. I love the songs but my favourite aspect is the choreography, the Covent Garden scene, a thing to behold. It does have darkness, so not suitable for the under 12s, I'd say..

I liked this film but there is a huge problem with its BBFC classification - this film is definitely NOT A U RATING. Particularly the scenes where the Bulldog is killed and Oliver is captured again - those scenes are no where near suitable for 5 year olds. This film should be a PG - parents, please note this.

Its an amazing musical! Its just that there is one problem with me, Oliver is meant to be the main character right, when all he says is "yes sir" and "sorry sir". So for me personally I dont think Oliver is much of a character. But apart from my ups and downs, I would definitely recommend Oliver Twist as an 'MUST WATCH!'
