About this movie

Oriented follows the lives of three gay Palestinian friends as they confront their national and sexual identities in modern Tel Aviv, Israel. There's Khader, a nightlife "darling" who lives with his Jewish boyfriend David and their dalmatian Otis; Fadi, an ardent Palestinian nationalist who finds himself falling in love with an Israeli soldier; Naeem, who must gather the courage to come out to his conservative family from a small northern village.

Determined to change their reality, the three friends form a non-violent, cultural resistance group called "Qambuta" (Cauliflower) to advocate for sexual and national equality. Meanwhile, a war is brewing...

See why OUT calls this uniquely moving film "a must see, groundbreaking documentary" from first time filmmaker Jake Witzenfeld.

This is such important representation. They bring us into their lives, and for the first time I could imagine what it's like to be Palestinian, queer, and living in a settler-colonial state that is actively occupying other areas of your land. Yet, you must exist. Impossible existence. It helps me empathize with indigenous communities here in Canada, and reflect on my colonial violence of living here, an uninvited guest (settler?) on stolen land? The only difference is time. Land Back, Ya'll!
