Kinda disappointed the movie was slow as hell it had little parts here and there but a lot of talking. People over hyped this movie and I was so excited to finally see a scary movie so I bought this nonsense for $14.99. I literally watched this movie alone in the dark volume UP and never really jumped once. I could be a very bad critic but I've been on a mission for a real scary movie and this wasn't it. If your bored with no other option then go ahead and watch for yourself. Also if it means anything I tried watching this yesterday but not even half way into the movie I dosed off. It doesn't grab your attention right away and is very predictable.

The first half of the film is so slow and boring, introducing uninteresting characters with an unimaginative background story. Once the movie finally takes off it is only average at best. The reason everything happens in the movie is poorly implemented. It relies heavily on jump scares to keep the audience interested and most of them are expected. The reason I give it 2 stars is because the ending is laughably bad and I rented it for a $1.

The Conjuring and Conjuring 2 are far and away superior to Ouija Origin of Evil. The Woman in Black was much better too. I agree with another reviewer that they basically used every possession cliché in the book, and there were not really any true scares for me. Generally creepy but it failed to deliver the thrills. Good actors but didn't live up to my expectations.
