Hoping to forge a better life, Denmark native Karen Blixen (Meryl Streep) enters into a marriage of convenience with a womanizing baron. But when the couple moves to Nairobi, Karen falls in love with a free-spirited hunter (Robert Redford) who can't be tied down. Director Sydney Pollack's lush period drama earned seven Academy Awards, including statues for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography.

Have watched it several times and still love it. Its got romance, history, great scenery and music, action and tragedy... Something for everyone!

The movie reminds me, the Romance in a beautiful English country house, withba burnibg fireplace surrounded with beautiful workers and animals. One of the best movies I have ever watched.

This is simply excellent and worthwhile watching. A good performance by Meryl Streep, Robert Redford and everyone else. Tge music by John Berry is superb as is the cinematography.
