My wife and I love Christian Bale's acting and most of the movies he's in. We also like movies like "The Place Behind the Pines." Small budget but an absolute killer film. Unfortunately, Out of the Furnace was a letdown to us both. It's very slow leaving you waiting for something to happen but nothing really happens. The first half of the movie was great. The second half.... well... not so much.

This would have been a great movie if it didn't take so long getting the point across. And, the "bad guy" should never comes looking for the "good guy."

It was OK. It was great acting no question about it. If you are into vigilante justice, give this movie a watch. I was just bored by the predictable nature of the story. I thought the ending was stupid, including the last scene that left me scratching my head.
