Sahasranamam, Rajendran and Sivaji are three brothers, born in Tamil Nadu, but have chosen Burma for their livelihood. In the event of their sister Sriranjani's wedding, they plan to visit India. But due to the restrictions only one of them can travel. Sivaji gets the chance to visit India. The ship in which Sivaji travels gets stranded at mid sea due to war escalation. Further the other two brothers also leave for India but they get separated. Sriranjani gets married and delivers a baby boy. Misfortune strikes, she loses her husband and dad. Stripped of home and belongings she is caught in the eyes of the societyÕs bad elements. Sivaji finally reaches Madras port, but is robbed of his belongings and virtually becomes a beggar. How the family members manage to come out of the turmoil and finally get together forms the rest of the narration.
