Before man makes it to Mars, he must conquer the Arctic. Passage to Mars is the incredible true story of six men who embark on a treacherous, 2,000-mile journey across the forbidding tundra of the Northwest Passage—an alien voyage on planet Earth designed to prepare NASA astronauts for an eventual mission to Mars. But as an expedition that was supposed to take weeks stretches into a two-year odyssey, the crew must overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges and life-threatening conditions if they hope to realize their dreams of someday reaching the Red Planet. This breathtaking adventure features narration by Zachary Quinto and special guest voice appearances by Buzz Aldrin and Academy Award (R) nominee Charlotte Rampling.

It's reminiscent of Spock in monologues. Paced wording. Methodical. Intent. And draws further from the humanity behind the documentary leaving it like a sci-fi spin on a reality show. Anybody else would have sufficed -- [why] this particular Star Trekking? Just another curious popularity voted on the matter. Dull.

Stylish and powerful. Loaded with magic and si-fi references. "Passage to Mars", beneath and above the icy crusts of its alien worlds, celebrate a once lost spirit of adventure. More, much more than a "doc" about a NASA endeavor, the film reflects on our capacity to go beyond our natural frontiers to search for crucial answers, in a beautiful concert of emotions that all of us can connect with. Magnificent.

Wow. This doc sounds and looks like a fiction (neat cinematography and sound), but this is the real deal. A true-life adventure. Thought-provoking, epic, haunting. The film stays with long after. The narration is unusual. Zachary Quinto reads the expedition log of NASA mission leader (Pascal Lee) as he would write it out loud. Purely engaging and intriguing. The parallel journey between the Arctic and Mars is very subtle and brings those worlds together in an almost surreal manner. There is more poetry than science - even though you learn bunch of new things about Mars. You are on board with the crew, immersed. Incredible documentary. See it on the big screen if you can!Very suspenseful for a doc. Breathtaking landscapes, both Martian and Arctic. Crafted with genuine talent.
