I had read about and saw photographs of this family and their relationship with the orphaned magpie and was intrigued by the special bond they developed. The film has lived up to my expectations. The acting is high class and the photography scintillating. Most captivating of all is the footage of the mischievous magpie(s), one of Australia's most intelligent and musical birds. A simple narrative of a perfect life shattered by a tragic accident and the struggle to regain a sense of wholeness and meaning, mirrored by and intertwined with the magpie's journey.

Very heartfelt movie, Showing insight into how a family struggles after an accident, hope is given through caring for a magpie. My 9yr old daughter chose this movie, recommend parental company due to the emotional content. We would definitely watch it again.

I watched this with my sons and it was one of the most moving films of all time. Such a beautiful testament of love.
