Kern Countyn apulaisseriffi Joe ”Deke” Deacon (Washington) lähetetään Los Angelesiin nopealle todistusaineiston keräysreissulle. Hän sotkeutuu kuitenkin kaupunkia terrorisoivan sarjamurhaajan etsintöihin. Jahtia johtaa Los Angelesin seriffilaitoksen ylikonstaapeli Jim Baxter (Malek), joka on vaikuttunut Deken etsijänvaistoista ja pyytää häneltä epävirallista apua. Baxter ei kuitenkaan tiedä, että heidän jäljittämänsä tappajan tutkimukset tonkivat esille osia Deken menneisyydestä ja paljastavat järkyttäviä salaisuuksia, jotka saattavat uhata muutakin kuin hän tutkimustaan.

The acting in this movie is great, it sometimes comes up short in story. The ending also left something to be desired. At full price it's not worth it, but on sale it's a must grab.

Save your money. Nothing of note happens in this movie. You have an emotionally wounded cop and a witty serial killer. If you are hard of hearing and still want to watch this, turn on close captions so you hear the whispering in the morgue and other scenes.

It was missing something, great actors of course, but the storyline didn't build properly to make an strong emotional impact and reason.
