Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon (Washington) is sent to Los Angeles for what should have been a quick evidence‐gathering assignment. Instead, he becomes embroiled in the search for a serial killer who is terrorizing the city. Leading the hunt, L.A. The first 3/4 of the movie is brilliant. Great story, acting, photography, atmosphere etc. And then it just kind of falls apart into an illogical and unsatisfying mess. A great pity, because this could have been one of the best thrillers up there with No Country for Old Men
