I'd recommend this movie to those who love art house movies. If you're looking for a typical ghost/horror story then this isn't for you. This movie is an exploration of how we deal with grief, longing and loneliness. The pace is slow. The imagery is beautiful. The structure is unconventional. Kristen Stewart's performance was subtle and a great improvement from her past work. In fact, everyone's acting was very much on point. I found the ending jarring because it spoon fed the audience. The ending said, it was all in her head. I think it would have served the story better to have an open ended resolution. That would also in line with a typical French film.

Concept towards the beginning was interesting but then it trickled off towards the middle and end. I felt like they could have expanded in areas that felt untouched. The areas of the story where it felt like they didn't expand, may have been intentional, but I didn't care for it regardless. Sometimes leaving the audience in the dark can be suspenseful and fun, but it needs to be executed well. Simply put, I regret spending the money to rent it.
