One of my all-time favourite "cult" films, I'm overjoyed that Phantom of the Paradise is available through Google Play and I no longer have to comb through the archives of obscure little video stores, themselves a dying breed. Phantom of the Paradise is a rock musical re-telling of Leroux's Phantom of the Opera, with hefty mixes of Faust and The Picture of Dorian Gray. It's also one of Brian De Palma's earliest films, so it's nice to see where the techniques such as split screen filming started. If you like your Grand Guignol served up with humour and pathos, and a cool soundtrack, this is a must see!

I saw this movie in its original theatrical release, it's always stuck with me. Fantastic under appreciated, over shadowed in my opinion, by the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
