When their ship crash-lands on a remote planet, the marooned passengers soon learn that escaped convict Riddick (Vin Diesel) isn't the only thing they have to fear. Back when Pitch Black came out, it had been a long dry spell for A/B-grade creature features that had reached the cinemas in Finland... Thus I was overjoyed by the simple fact that a monster movie could still reach distribution, nevermind that Pitch Black was GOOD not just as a monster movie but as a movie in general. It has interesting characters, decent plot, neat monsters and introduces us to the kick-ass antihero that's Richard B. Riddick. If monsters or action is your game, you owe itvto yourself to check this one out! The sequels unfortunately haven't fared as well... The animations are interesting as is the first game, but the first movie sequel (Chronicles of Riddick) was inflated in epicness so much as to undermine the character of Riddick himself, and though I enjoyed the second sequel (Riddick) it followed the first movie a bit too closely to stand well on its own. Here's hoping that Twohy and Diesel manage to eventually pull off a sequel that combines the good parts and leaves out the bad parts from the tale that this movie sparked! =)

gran película un servicio mediocre el de comprar algo que en realidad me alquilan. la película nunca es tuya. solamente podes verla desde su servidor, aparte yo la pague en hd y solamente me permite una resolución máxima de 480 mas que desconforme

Vastly superior to the later Riddick films. It just goes to show, more money and more digital effects do not make a better film. Sadly they should have just left alone and never made a sequel. Fun film, well worth a look.
