For kids who are into planes, this might be fun for them to watch. But this has got to be the most generic underdog storytelling I've ever seen out of Disney/Pixar... I think. Our main character from small town USA is into something, but not great at it. Eventually with determination, friendship, and kindness they get just good enough at their passion that somehow they overcome all others who have trained longer and have far more experience at this event. Total easy money grab for Disney here.

My husband flew Hornets like Bravo for many years. He is a flight instructor now and the plane they use to teach students in is the same colors as Dusty and looks similar. Our boys love it! It comes on and they yell Daddy's Bravo! A minute later they tell Daddy's Dusty! Great movie but I have to say that Planes Fire and Rescue is better.

Sometimes the character in the movie gets overshadowed by the persona of the actor. Every time I heard Dane Cook's voice I thought the plane was going to start doing a stand up comedy routine. Unfortunately there weren't any really funny lines for him to deliver. My two year old lost interest about 1\2 hr into the movie. She normally is pretty glued to the screen for animated films. It was a beautifully animated film, the story is pretty played out though.
