Visionary filmmaker Tim Burton (Batman, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow) has taken Boulle's basic idea and built upon it a uniquely envisioned journey to an incredible upside-down world.

Best part of this whole movie was that Abraham Lincoln Ape statue creepily staring at you at the end.

It is all to save the chimp in the capsule, plus the apes are lead by a chimp. Interesting!
