The makeup may be showing it's age now compared to the current trilogy's special effects.But for me still this is the best apes movie ever made.The twist at the end is still a classic one in modern cinema , and the atmosphere throughout the movie keeps you're attention all the way to the brilliant climax.

Absolutely superb film, well acted and brilliantly paced. The key themes remain as poignant today as they did in 1968. A must-see for sci-fi fans, film-lovers and (I would say) most members of the human race.
