From the Academy Award® Nominated Producer of Up In The Air and Executive Producer of Juno. The world is a confusing place for Wendy, a fiercely independent and brilliant young woman with autism. Wendy longs to leave her group home and return to life with her sister’s family and new baby. She is sure that in order to reunite with her family all she needs to do is convince them of her newfound competence and abilities. As a lover of all things Star Trek, Wendy writes in her free time; so when she hears about a Star Trek screenplay competition, she seizes the opportunity to submit her 500 page script and prove her worth. The only problem: if she doesn’t hand it in in person she will miss the deadline! Wendy sneaks out of her group home and travels hundreds of miles outside her protected boundaries and refuses to let anything stop her from achieving her goals.

Wonderfully written movie with heart. The story revolving around the main character writing and trying to get her script to Paramount Pictures before the deadline (time) made it very interesting and engaging. This movie shows that all the characters featured and shown were written with personality and care, and has many scenes were the main young character interacts with other individuals at a very down to earth and real conversations. This movie absolutely has substance and definitely not a waste of time on watching. A very good way to spend time seeing something worth seeing.

A very good and fresh story out of nowhere. Wish Hollywood would spend more time and money on these new ideas of movie stories rather than the overhyped and headache CGI bashing your face every 10 seconds. This is a movie to sit and relax with telling a good story and characters that you Actually care about. There's one scene where the main young character engages conversation with another girl slightly older who by the looks of what's happening she's a nice kind person who offers to help the main character but unexpectedly out of nowhere with her boyfriend turns and victimize the main character. That one scene alone will absolutely gets you angry and at the same time realizes the innocent vulnerability of the main character as she's trying to get her script taken in before the deadline. Definitely worth spending time to watch.

This is a heartwarming story suitable for all ages. And is of particular interest for those who know people on the autism spectrum or Star Trek fans. But if neither is true, it is still worth watching.
