This movie is good but it hides behind the truth of Pocahontas. It uses the story of John or something like that and makes it kid friendly. Obviously if they followed the true story it wouldve not been a disney animated movie. Basically from the description, she 'falls in love with the courageous John Smith'. If somebody can make the true story of Pocahontas, live action disney movie or not, then we can make people see the truth. Great movie if you dont know the true story.

It is not exactly as accurate based off from actual history in the year 1607 but it's a memorable film w/ exciting action. Mel Gibson does the voice as Captain John Smith. The atagonist, Govenor John Ratcliffe is excellent! As his purpose of coming to Virginia is seeking for gold. It's funny to watch an angry pug, Percy chasing after the racoon, Meeko.

To be honest I enjoyed the movie as a kid. I know there were a lot of changes made to the actual story but it's a normal Disney movie. Disney did this to many classics where they would change around the story to make it more child friendly. Originally she was raped for example.. are you gonna show that to children? All in all it was a good movie to watch with children and just not put too much thought into it.
