Crazy & Rich' segue le vicissitudini della newyorkese purosangue Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) quando decide di accompagnare il fidanzato, Nick Young (Henry Golding), al matrimonio del suo migliore amico a Singapore. Elettrizzata all’idea di visitare l’Asia per la prima volta ma nervosa al pensiero di dover incontrare la famiglia di Nick, Rachel viene presa contropiede quando scopre che l’uomo le aveva celato alcuni aspetti importanti della sua vita. A quanto pare non solo è il rampollo di una delle famiglie più ricche del Paese ma è anche uno degli scapoli più ambiti. Essere al braccio di Nick è come avere un bersaglio sulla schiena per Rachel, presa di mira da tutte le gelose arriviste, per non parlare della madre dell’uomo (Michelle Yeoh) che disapprova la scelta. Presto diventa chiaro che, anche se il denaro non può comprare l’amore, può decisamente complicare le cose.

I notice tons of 5 star and 1 star reviews so I'm going to be different and say 2 and a half stars. The script was for the most part what I'd call "trite", plus overall it wasn't that funny. However there was good acting by Michelle Yeoh, Constance and Awkwafina. Too much overacting by the girl who played Araminta. The only time I laughed out loud was when Awkwafina told Rachel that Eleanor would probably offer $omething in exchange for willfully disappearing.

I was excited...until 3/4 of the movie ended up being in FRENCH. I understand they're suppose to be 'french-asian' but putting 3/4 of the movie in french doesnt capture my attention because my eyes (as an English speaker) are on the subtitles. NOT the movie.

Was a rly good movie. Honestly the books were better and it wasn't very original or a masterpiece (unlike the books) but it is worth watching. Ppl say it speaks out against racism but it rly doesn't except for the first scene which actually sent the wrong message about racism. While I love the intent the only reason the mean hotel manager started respecting them was because they were rich. That's not the message ppl should be sending out. Ppl should respect others because they r PEOPLE!
