As a Pokémon fan I was slightly underwhelmed on first watch, but the next time I saw it this film had started to grow on me and now I love it, as said previously some stunning visuals at times with a feel of Bladerunner about it even down to the score in parts the Pokémon are simply adorable this movie should be regarded as a bench mark for this type of CGI. Ok it’s not the most amazing story ever, and I found it really predictable I’d actually guessed the twist (but it is very twisty) As for Ryan Reynolds he totally hits it out the park as usual, do you have to like Pokémon to like this film? No not really, but that said you’ll get much more out of it if you already are a fan, give it a go it may surprise you !

One of the delights of never having procreated - and probably never will - is I don't have to concern myself with the umpteen 'universes' they immerse themselves in. Thank heavens, then, for eight year old nephews who can explain the incomprehensible nonsense that is Pokemon in all its garish forms. For more, read my full review: bit.ly/PikachuDetectivePok

I've been playing Pokemon since day one I own all games to date as well so naturally I enjoyed this movie, a LOT, I recognised all references in the movie too. My only nitpick? I wish Evolution was featured a lot more. The scene in Clifford's office where Eevee evolved into Flareon was beautifully done but I would have liked to have seen more. Apart from this I had a blast watching it and could very easily watch it again. Do I recommend this movie? absolutely :D
