This was pretty bad. Unfortunately, I've seen the original so this was a huge let down. The pacing was too fast and there wasn't anything significantly new added to the story in this remake. The acting was atrocious. In the original you really felt the despair for the family, not so much here. People get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to make these movies, you would think for that kind of money viewers could get a better product. But year after year its the same garbage. Not creative enough to make an original story, lets make a remake and lets not do the original story justice. An absolute fail here!

Well, first of all Google, I want my money back! The only word to describe how bad this film was is WOW. The best acting was the little six year old, she has a promising career as an actress, the rest, not so much. They took a fantastic classic horror movie and destroyed it. Remakes are rarely worth the effort but they took this one to a whole new level of awful. Bad acting, bad graphics, ruined script. It's as if they intentionally made every effort to make this as terrible as possible to give the original a bad name. Shame on you, you have no right to defame the classic by using it's name in vain by titling this trash Poltergeist!

There are few times that a remake will outshine the original, unfortunately this did not. Even with the incredible technology & applications available for special effects today that could have helped make this movie so much more, it didn't, on any level. The original had an authenticity in the actors, even if, compared to current standards, the special effects are subpar they still foretold a chilling white knuckle suspense that kept the viewer on edge. This version just didn't impress me.
