Precious Jones (Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe) is a high-school girl with nothing working in her favor. She is pregnant with her father's child - for the second time. She can't read or write, and her schoolmates tease her for being fat. Her home life is a horror, ruled by a mother (Mo'Nique) who keeps her imprisoned both emotionally and physically. Precious's instincts tell her one thing: if she's ever going to break from the chains of ignorance, she will have to dig deeply into her own resources.

Precious has very few redeeming qualities. The woman that plays her mother pulled off a very good performance, but there are too many things wrong with this movie to really make that performance count. I say this movie is sloppy because of its poor editing and pretentious camera work. There are so many little things that could have been easily fixed in post that where just totally skipped over.

I waited a long time to see this movie,just to be disappointed. Its poorly made,poorly acted,with a poor script.I'm not sure how this film managed to get all the attention it has over the years because it sucks.Not recommended.

This movie sucks! I had to watch it in school once and I can tell you it is the WORST form of entertainment I have ever seen! If you ever find yourself in possession of this film, I advise you to destroy it by any means necessary! It is THAT terrible! Especially that miserable excuse for an ending! Avoid this abomination like the plague!
