Major Dutch Schaefer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is the leader of a military rescue unit looking for allies captured by guerrillas in the Latin American jungle. At first it seems like any other mission: Schaefer and his team of seasoned combat veterans spot a guerilla camp, destroy it, and find the men they were sent to rescue executed. But when Schaefer attempts to lead his unit out, with a captured guerrilla in tow, something horrifying and inexplicable begins to happen: One by one the men are killed by a mysterious adversary - a Predator from another world.

No one expected Predator to be anywhere near as good as it was. For what its worth, a very straightforward film in terms of plot, but the dialogue is so natural you feel the believability of the characters. The action is great and consistent, the performances are solid, but the real magic is the titular villain. A true triumph in creature design, the Predator is more than just a cinematic monster, it's a main character alongside the cast. Timeless in it's legacy, a true must-see film.

Not at all what I expected. I was expecting something really cheesy, but while there were some cheesy lines, overall the movie took itself quite seriously and the outcome was amazing. I didn't think it was going to be a good movie, but I love it.
