About this movie

Pregnant In America is the true story of Steve and Mandy, a young, adventurous, expectant couple, who decide to take a daring and potentially dangerous approach to having their first child--outside the modern American medical system. What they learn as they travel across the United States and Europe interviewing experts and confronting birthing situations, exposes them to some shocking and disturbing realities about Americaメs maternity care system and what is happening to women and babies. Ultimately, what they learn impacts on and alters the outcome of their own pregnancy.

Honestly the father in this documentary just rubbed me the wrong way. Some very interesting information about American Medical system. My biggest problem with this documentary is it seems like women are made to be victims who don't stand up for their right to have a certain birth experience. It's called put on your big girl panties & have the birth experience you want. I don't want any pain meds don't take them. Don't want an episiotomy say no. Be willing to live with the consequences of choices
