Good evening watch, if you are into a bit of fun in your Georgian Romance. I felt it was as good proper an adaption of the novel as one could hope for. Of course partly I was hoping for maybe a different look of things than the novel edit showed. Though its a 'comedy' its very much a dark dramady I'd say more so. As there were a few laughing outloud moments, most of of the humour comes with how it derails from the original work much like the novel. and a lot of the interior comedic bits are obviously missed if you are not familar with the Austen's novel.

It seems like they read the first half of the book, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, then decided to sparknotes the rest. The last half of the movie is like a completely different movie. It's almost like the producers said, "Ok so we need a certain percentage from the book to use the basic plotlines, character names, and the title. We got that and now we can do our own thing. As long as Darcy and Elizabeth get married at the end, people won't notice or care." Well I noticed and care. This movie was crap.

The book is a delightful comedy, the movie in not. As an adaptation it is a disappointment. I'm not a huge fan of zombie films but trying to appreciate the movie in that light still fails because the plot hints at more with Wickham than it can deliver. Then there's the matter of any retelling of Pride and Prejudice should be a romance and this was not romantic. It was not what I expected and I tried to enjoy it but it failed in comedy and romance.
