Master of horror John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing) directs this terrifying battle between humankind and ultimate evil. A group of graduate students and scientists uncover an ancient canister in an abandoned church, but when they open the container, they inadvertently unleash a strange liquid and an evil force on all humanity. As the liquid turns their co-workers into zombies, the remaining members realize they have released the most unspeakable of horrors, Satan himself, thus paving the way for the return of his father - the all-powerful anti-God. This is part 2 of Carpenters not intentional 3 part trilogy. Part 1 is The Thing- Destruction of man Part 2 is Prince of darkness- Destruction of God Part 3 is In The Mouth Of Madnesa- Destruction of sanity. For those reviewers calling it a bad movie obviously don't understand a solid story.

Meh, besides a young Alice Cooper being in it it wasn't all that great. I actually give it 3 and a half stars. Plus it kept freezing up an then jumping off on my platform.

Amazing forgotten John Carpenter flick! Often Prince of Darkness is forgotten or dismissed. I don't understand why. It's creepy, great practical effects, awesome cast and an original story. Check it out!
