For anyone who thinks this is a children's movie and that it lacks the showiness of other fantasies of this era (e.g. the labyrinth, legend), in my opinion, doesn't fully see the perfection within this movie. Through its entirety, Director Rob Reiner balances excitement and fantasy with satire and parody. To the point that one cannot tell whether this film is a fantasy or a parody of a fantasy. It really is that good. The story within the story is something that so many can relate to. The relationship built between the grandfather and the grandson is just intricate enough to hit that tender spot in our hearts, but it never takes away from the plot of the story. Instead it adds just the right amount of "interjective" humor while giving us a side story that warms our emotions. This is the type of films that parents who cannot take another standard kiddie film can turn to as both adult comic relief and a film for the kids. Or a date night movie. The humor stands out just enough, without taking away from the focus of action, adventure, and fantasy. It is easy to see why this film has a rating of 4.9/5. It is on my list of movies I must watch at least once a year.

Remember how the Twisted Prince tried to kill Westly via the use of the "Pit Of Despair", and casted his shadow on guilder. That's why Westley, along with Fezzik and Inigo Montoya, stormed the castle in Florin, with it, Count Rugen died at the hands of the wounded spaniard, and Westley is reunited with Buttercup. When Humperdinck came to the room, Westley warned the Remorseless Prince that it would be "To the Pain". Humperdinck was then presumed Locked Up in the dungeon

I saw the movie without watching the trailer (CHILDHOOD) and now just watched it. Wow, it sucked. When it comes to portraying the atmosphere of the movie, the trailer is not where to go. BUT THE MOVIE IS SO GOOD. I grew up watching this while my mom was at appointments. The doctor had a kid's corner set up with a tv and some movies and I have seen this so many times since. :)
