I cannot recommend this movie enough to everyone. I've bought it twice because i gave one away. The story abive all is charscter driven. The visuals and action scenes are amazing too, and the theme about balancing nature with our own technology couldnt be more pertinent. I also highly recommend Princess Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

I have seen this movie in both dub and sub formats. They are both great in their own ways. I am however reluctant to buy on google play because I am unsure of the dubbed version they use is the Studio Ghibli or the Disney dub tracks. If I knew it was the Studio Ghibli dub I would buy it but not if its the Disney sponsored dubbed version. The Disney dub sensors the story to be more acceptable in the companies eyes rather than the artists eyes. I prefer the real thing. My rating is based on the original sub and dub versions. 5 stars for Studio Ghibli dub 3 stars for Disney dub

The movie is fantastically well made. I cannot recommend it enough. The story, the characters, the soundtrack, the plot's progress-- Princess Mononoke is an emotional experience that will stay in your heart for ages. I must also insist you watch the film in its original Japanese language. The English dub, while it is memorable, the heart of the film lies with it's original voice cast which simply breathes life onto the characters.
