His six-year-old daughter is missing, together with her young friend -- and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, the detective in charge (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces his release. As the police pursue multiple leads and pressure mounts, knowing his child's life is at stake, the frantic father decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. But just how far will he go to protect his family? Led by Jackman and Gyllenhaal, this dramatic thriller features an all-star cast, including Maria Bello as Keller's distraught wife; Oscar® nominees Terrence Howard and Viola Davis as the other parents, whose daughter also went missing; in addition to Academy Award® winner Melissa Leo.

Hugh Jackman shines in this and Jake gyllenhall does a great job too and overall stellar cast. This movie is quite dark but not too scary recommend for those looking for a thriller/mystery

Over 5 years later and it still packs a punch. 'Prisoners' will have you invested with its thrilling premise, raw performances and an overall grit that will take hold and not let go.

Great movie thoroughly recommend that you take time out and be a couch potato, because it will be so worth watching it has all the right mix of actors who carry it off brilliantly.
