i just watched it and holy jesus it was amazing, the acting from carey mulligan and bo burnham was phenomenal and that along with the cinematography and music was a match made in heaven truly, the tone changed when you needed different pacing and and had the perfect amount of up's and down's. i have nothing more to say that every man should watch this movie to just better educate themselves and put that in their perspective, and i would put a content warning for an SA survivors but apart from that this was a stunning film.

April 13, 2021: Haven't seen the whole film but I've seen many clips and reaction videos to the movie and honestly, each scene I've watched has been amazing. So jaw dropping and chilling. And so aesthetically pleasing! (November edit): Finally bought it and WOW, SO SO SO much better than I could have ever anticipated! Each clip is so stunning and impactful. There are literally 0 filler scenes, the entire film had me on the edge of my seat! The intensity was great. 1000% watch if you love a good thriller!

It certainly achieves its purpose of disturbing the viewer by creating horror from the female experience, and creates amazing atmosphere, storyline and I do enjoy it's general premise. However I find the movie to be pure trauma porn. Even as someone who hasn't been a victim sexual assult myself, this movie is incredibly anxiety inducing. And I personally find this movie to be exploitive of the experiences of sexual assault victims. It feels like an attempt to be as polarising as possible.
