About this movie

Look to the skies and take cover, for mega-monster Q The Winged Serpent is ready to wreak havoc on New York City and no one is safe! When small-time crook Jimmy Quinn (Michael Moriarty Law & Order) discovers a gigantic nest in the spire of the famed Chrysler Building little does he realise that the dragon-like owner is hell-bent on death and destruction. Meanwhile, NYPD detective Shepard (David Carradine, Kung Fu) investigates a series of ritual sacrifice murders that may have unleashed a giant flying Aztec Serpent God into the skies of Manhattan. It's name is Quetzalcoatl, but best to call it Q...because that's all you'll have time to say before it tears you apart!

Also featuring Candy Clark (The Man Who Fell To Earth) and Richard Roundtree (SHAFT), Q The Winged Serpent is expertly presented in a new widescreen transfer and includes an illuminating 25 minute exclusive interview with maverick filmmaker Larry Cohen (It's Alive, Maniac Cop), who has created a cult monster movie classic in the rip-roaring tradition of King Kong and Godzilla. 1982 Arkoff International, Larco Productions.

This is a movie in which an 80 foot stop motion dragon, summoned to life by a crazed priest of the Aztec gods, menaces New York. So coherent story-telling is not really its strong point. Being gonzo, on the other hand, is something it's pretty good at. While not in any technical sense a "good" film, I found Q to be a thoroughly enjoyable one. If you're at all a fan of giant monster antics, it's worth your time.
