À propos de ce film

The incredible true story of Olympic legend Jesse Owens is vividly brought to life in Race. In his epic quest to be the greatest athlete in history, Owens (Stephan James, Selma) chooses to compete in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, where he must overcome not only elite competition, but also the brutal racial climate of Adolf Hitler's Germany. Also starring Jason Sudekis (We're the Millers) and Academy Award winners Jeremy Irons and William Hurt, Race is a film about courage, determination, tolerance, friendship and trust that critics are calling "Movie magic!" (Brian Truitt, USA TODAY). - 2016 Focus Features. All Rights Reserved.

I love the movies about when someone has to really go through a lot of hardship to become something. This movie really shows the struggles that Jesse had to go through during an Era when blacks were not widely accepted and during an Era when WW11 was just starting up. Very powerful movie and if you want to be moved, watch this. He was an amazing man and had an amazing character.

The critics sind falsch verbunden. This is a great film, particularly if you like to run, play ball, or otherwise compete. It is a story of triumph the whole family can watch, one which your kids will be asking about long after it is over. Saying anything more would risk trivializing the achievements of the great Jesse Owens as well as all the great people who supported him.

I was expecting another "42" (movie bio on Jackie Robinson) unfortunately the producers were more interested in the "heroic resistance" of the US Olympic organization against the Nazis than on Mr. Owens. Ironically Leni Riefenstahl (infamous for her documentary on the Berlin Games) came across as a sympathetic Owens admirer.
