Excellent movie of Indentured woman whose father's business was defunct in England and she is sold to farmer (William Holden) who uses her for a servant and Nanny for son. He's a widower and farms and hunts all day and the cabin looks it. She cleans it up and realizes her life is at risk unless she learns to shoot the rifle at the house when she's alone with the boy. Mitchum is a fur trapper and friend of Holden's who rests for several days when hunting in the vicinity. Mitchum is attracted to Young and since Holden is treating her like a slave, he asks if he can buy her. Superior plot and acting. I give it 5 stars and thumbs up for sure.

I saw Loretta Young in this movie for the first time. I loved the movie and loved her in it!

Very entertaining. Love Loretta Young!
