When the U.S. Air Force decides to place a new missile base in sleepy Putnam's Landing, Grace Bannerman leads the women of the small town in a revolt against bringing the war to their peaceful hamlet. Unfortunately, Grace's husband Harry is an Air Force reservist and is pressured to rein his headstrong wife in. Added to the mayhem is the vampish Angela Hoffa, who puts the moves on Harry, a small town lothario and beat poet and an oversexed group of teenagers led by Comfort Goodpasture.
